Affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine,the European Union has redefined its energy targets. A total of 320GW of photovoltaic systems will be installed by 2025 in Europe, and 600GW will be installed by 2030.
The EU has already developed a four-step plan:
Step 1:Encourage the installation of more rooftop photovoltaic systems.
By 2026, new public and commercial buildings which is more than 250 square meters in EU member states will have to install rooftop photovoltaic systems, and by 2029, all EU buildings must install or use rooftop photovoltaic systems.
Step 2:In addition, the EU has highlighted a variety of land use schemes, such as agricultural land photovoltaic systems and floating photovoltaic systems.
Step 3:All-round development of partners, from the renewable energy sector to the photovoltaic systems sector.
Step 4:Promote the photovoltaic system manufacturing industry chain within the EU to be free from emergencies.
However, the EU has not introduced direct incentives for photovoltaic system manufacturing, such as India's Production Related Program (PLI) or tariffs imposed by the United States.
This is an exciting news for the global photovoltaic industry manufacturers.
